The Museum of Penobscot Bay and Beyond The place for everyone Explore the daily life of a seafaring region. Penobscot Marine Museum’s collections and stories have wide appeal. Historic houses, boats, ship models, fine art, decorative arts—and that’s just a start. Craft demonstrations, music, classes, and other programs occur during the regular museum season and throughout the year with planned community events. The maritime heritage of Penobscot Bay For centuries, this region has been buzzing with maritime life. Penobscot Marine Museum preserves and presents this rich history. We tell stories of shipbuilding, sailing, lobstering, fishing, and home life in the 19th century and all the hard work that has made this region famous. Our buildings, boats, and bountiful collections are waiting for you. Don’t miss out! The museum is conveniently located on U.S. Route 1 in the center of Searsport. Look for the mast and sign in our front yard on Main Street (U.S. 1). Season: Memorial Day weekend through the third Sunday in October. Please visit our website during the winter season to learn of our special community events. Hours of Operation: Monday–Saturday, 10–5; Sunday noon–5. Admission Fees: PMM members: Free Adults: $8, children ages 7–15: $3, 6 and under: free Family (parents + children in same household): $18
