Boating, Fishing, and Travel Information for Monhegan, ME

Situated a dozen miles out to sea off Port Clyde, Monhegan is for many boaters the first sight of land after a long night crossing the Gulf of Maine. The harbor can be rough in practically any conditions, though, so this is a destination that is perhaps best visited by ferry, with a reservation for a night or two at one of the great inns on the island. No matter how you arrive, a trip to Monhegan is one that you will remember for a long time.
